BOCA RATON, Fla. (Interstat) — Erin Rodgers scored 25 points to lead Florida Atlantic to a 68-63 win over UAB in a women’s basketball game Saturday at FAU Gymnasium.

The Owls (10-13, 2-8 American Athletic) never trailed after the first quarter but could not pull away from the Blazers (9-14, 2-8). UAB cut the deficit to two points multiple times in the fourth quarter, but Florida Atlantic made key free throws late to secure the victory. Rodgers added four rebounds for FAU. Sofia Munoz led UAB with 10 points and five assists.

Florida Atlantic capitalized on UAB’s 14 turnovers, scoring eight points off them, and held a 32-24 advantage in points in the paint. Attendance was 738.
