Air Force at San Diego State

Preview: Air Force Falcons at San Diego State Aztecs

SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The San Diego State Aztecs look to close 2025 with a fifth consecutive victory when they host the Air Force Falcons in a Mountain West women’s basketball matchup Wednesday at Viejas Arena.

The Aztecs (8-3) enter conference play on a high note, coming off an 83-54 rout of Boise State on Dec. 20. They have won four straight since a Nov. 24 loss to Penn State, showcasing a balanced attack. Forward Kennedy Lee has been a consistent presence, averaging 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during the win streak. She scored 16 points in 23 minutes against Boise State.

San Diego State’s defense has been pivotal, holding opponents to an average of 56.5 points during the current streak.

Air Force (7-5) arrives in San Diego after a 61-45 home win over Nevada on Dec. 20, which snapped a two-game skid. The Falcons have shown resilience in close games, including a 65-64 victory over N.M. Highlands on Dec. 13.

The Falcons will rely on guard Milahnie Perry, their leading offensive threat. Perry is averaging 14.0 points per game over her last four contests, including a 24-point performance in a win at Utah Valley on Dec. 6. She led the team with 16 points against Nevada.

Historically, San Diego State has dominated the series, but the Falcons’ improved record suggests a more competitive matchup. Air Force’s ability to handle the Aztecs’ defensive pressure and control the tempo will be critical. San Diego State’s depth and home-court advantage at Viejas Arena, where they are 5-1 this season, present a significant challenge.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. PST on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025. It is the conference opener for both teams.

San Diego State visits Wyoming on Jan. 3. Air Force hosts UNLV on Jan. 3.
