HAMDEN, Conn. (Interstat) — Jackie Grisdale scored 12 points as Quinnipiac defeated Niagara 54-38 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Thursday night at TD Bank Sports Center.

The Bobcats (23-5) never trailed, building a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and maintaining a double-digit advantage for most of the second half. Ella Ryan also scored 12 points for Quinnipiac.

Kenedie Haruna led the Purple Eagles (1-27) with 12 points. Jordyn Williams added seven points, four assists and two blocks.

Quinnipiac shot effectively inside, scoring 32 points in the paint. Niagara struggled offensively, shooting just 28% from the field. An announced crowd of 437 attended the game.
