Seattle at San Diego
SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt prolonged slides will meet Saturday when the San Diego Toreros host the Seattle Redhawks in a West Coast Conference women’s basketball matchup at Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Both teams enter on significant losing streaks. Seattle (5-16) has dropped seven consecutive games since its last victory, which came against these same Toreros on Jan. 8, a 68-62 home win. San Diego (8-16) has lost three straight, most recently a narrow 64-59 defeat at Portland on Jan. 31.
The January meeting provides the central storyline for the rematch. In that game, Seattle overcame a 21-point performance from San Diego’s Olivia Owens to secure the win. Owens enters this contest as the Toreros’ primary offensive threat, coming off a career-high 27-point effort in the loss to Portland. Over her last five games, the guard is averaging 15.2 points.
Seattle will counter with forward Andjela Bigovic, who has been a consistent presence despite the team’s struggles. Bigovic is coming off a 10-rebound performance against Loyola Marymount and has scored in double figures in two of her last four outings. Her activity on the glass will be critical for a Redhawks team that has been outscored by an average of 24.7 points during its seven-game skid.
San Diego’s recent form has been marginally better, with a conference win over Loyola Marymount on Jan. 24 highlighting its schedule. However, consistency has been an issue, as evidenced by a 45-point loss to Gonzaga on Jan. 17.
The matchup pits Seattle’s search for any positive momentum against a San Diego squad looking for home-court revenge. With both teams near the bottom of the conference standings, the game represents a crucial opportunity to build confidence for the final stretch of the regular season.
Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. PST on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
