Memphis at Tulsa
Preview: Memphis Tigers at Tulsa Golden Hurricane
TULSA, Okla. (Interstat) — The Tulsa women’s basketball team looks to solidify its position in the American Athletic Conference standings when it hosts the Memphis Tigers on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at the Donald Reynolds Center.
The Golden Hurricane (14-6) enter the matchup with momentum, having won five of their last seven games, including a decisive 77-58 victory over Florida Atlantic on Tuesday. Tulsa’s success has been fueled by efficient offense and a stout home-court advantage.
Memphis (8-12) seeks to build on its most recent performance, a 52-40 defensive win over Texas-San Antonio on Jan. 23. That victory snapped a three-game skid for the Tigers, who have struggled for consistency in conference play.
A key matchup will feature two of the league’s top guards. Tulsa’s Mady Cartwright is a dynamic scorer, coming off an 18-point performance against FAU and boasting a 31-point outing earlier this month against Temple. She leads a balanced Golden Hurricane attack.
Memphis will counter with do-everything guard Daejah Richmond, who is averaging a near triple-double over her last three games. In the win over UTSA, Richmond posted 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. She followed that with 11 points and 7 assists in a loss at Wichita State. Her ability to impact all facets of the game will be crucial for the Tigers’ chances.
Tulsa won the teams’ first meeting this season, 64-53, in Memphis on Dec. 3, 2025. The Golden Hurricane defense held Memphis to 32.8% shooting from the field in that contest.
For Memphis, containing Cartwright and improving offensive efficiency on the road are paramount. For Tulsa, leveraging its home court and depth to wear down a Memphis team reliant on Richmond’s heavy minutes will be the focus.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
