Texas A&M at Missouri
Struggling Aggies, Tigers Seek SEC Win in Columbia
COLUMBIA, Mo. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt Southeastern Conference slides will meet Sunday when the Texas A&M women’s basketball team visits Missouri at Mizzou Arena.
The Aggies (8-7, 1-5 SEC) enter on a three-game losing streak, including a 98-54 home defeat to LSU on Thursday. Texas A&M has lost five of its last six, with its only conference win coming at Florida on Jan. 8.
Missouri (13-9, 2-6) has also found conference play difficult, dropping five of its last six SEC contests. The Tigers are coming off an 82-61 home loss to Mississippi on Thursday.
The matchup features two of the league’s top guards. Texas A&M will rely on Ny’Ceara Pryor, who leads the Aggies in scoring and assists. She is averaging 15.3 points and 6.3 assists over her last three games, including a 13-point, 6-assist performance against LSU.
Missouri counters with sophomore standout Grace Slaughter, who has been a consistent scorer. She is averaging 20.1 points per game in SEC play and scored 21 in the loss to Mississippi. Slaughter had a season-high 29 points at Florida on Jan. 18.
Texas A&M’s recent struggles are underscored by offensive woes, failing to reach 60 points in four of its last five games. Missouri has shown offensive bursts but has allowed an average of 81.2 points per game during its 1-5 stretch in conference play.
The Aggies won both meetings last season. Sunday’s game tips off at 2 p.m. Central.
