Oregon State at Saint Mary`s

MORAGA, Calif. (Interstat) — Two teams riding opposite waves of momentum will meet when Oregon State visits Saint Mary’s in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup Tuesday night at McKeon Pavilion.

Both the Beavers and Gaels carry identical 9-5 records into the final game of the 2025 calendar year. Oregon State arrives having won three straight, including a 74-65 victory at San Francisco on Sunday. Saint Mary’s looks to rebound after a 63-59 home loss to Portland on the same day, which snapped a four-game winning streak.

The contest features two of the region’s top guards. Oregon State is led by dynamic scorer Jenna Villa, who is coming off a 24-point, six-rebound performance against San Francisco. Over her last seven games, Villa is averaging 18.1 points, including a 27-point outing in a loss to Oregon.

Saint Mary’s counters with Abigail Shoff, who has provided efficient scoring off the bench. Shoff tallied 14 points and six rebounds in a win over New Mexico State on Dec. 20 and is averaging 7.3 points per game during the Gaels’ recent stretch.

Oregon State’s resurgence has been fueled by defense, holding opponents to 57.7 points per game during its three-game win streak. Saint Mary’s has relied on a balanced attack and strong home-court advantage, going 5-2 at McKeon Pavilion this season.

The Beavers’ schedule shows a clear turning point after a 96-73 loss at Oregon on Dec. 3. Since then, they are 4-1, with the only loss a 55-53 overtime setback to Arizona State. The Gaels’ season has been marked by streaks, with two separate four-game win streaks bookending a difficult 33-point loss at Southern California on Dec. 2.

Tuesday’s game serves as a final tune-up before both teams dive into their conference slates in January. Oregon State will host Pacific next, while Saint Mary’s opens West Coast Conference play at Pepperdine.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. PST.
