Northern Kentucky at Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to build on tough starts to the season will meet Saturday when the Northern Kentucky Norse visit the Chattanooga Lady Mocs in a nonconference women’s basketball game.

The matchup at McKenzie Arena pits a Northern Kentucky squad (1-4) fresh off its first win against a Chattanooga team (2-3) aiming to halt a two-game slide.

The Norse broke into the win column with a 70-61 victory over Toledo on Wednesday. Karina Bystry led the way with 18 points, while Maddie Moody added 15 points and six rebounds. Prior to that, Northern Kentucky had lost its first four games, all on the road, by an average of 21 points.

Chattanooga last played on Nov. 16, falling 79-66 to UAB. In that contest, Caia Elisaldez scored a game-high 25 points for the Lady Mocs. Their two wins this season came against Lipscomb and King University, but they have struggled in road games against power-conference opponents Florida and Troy.

Both teams will be searching for consistency before entering the heart of their respective conference schedules. The game tips off at 2 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, Nov. 22.
