Preview: Army at Lehigh Women’s Basketball Set for Patriot League Showdown

FOUNTAIN HILL, Pa. (Interstat) — A key Patriot League women’s basketball matchup awaits Wednesday night as the surging Army Black Knights visit the Lehigh Mountain Hawks at Stabler Arena.

Army (15-4 overall) enters with the conference’s best record but seeks to avenge a 77-66 home loss to Lehigh on Dec. 31. That result snapped what is now a seven-game winning streak for the Black Knights against the rest of the league. Army is coming off a 60-44 road loss at Navy on Saturday, a game where standout guard Camryn Tade scored 17 points.

Tade has been instrumental in Army’s strong season, averaging 16.1 points over her last eight contests. She poured in 26 points in a win at Loyola Maryland on Jan. 7 and scored 20 in a victory at American on Jan. 17.

Lehigh (10-8) has won four of its last five, including a 62-48 victory over Lafayette last Saturday. Guard Gracyn Lovette led that effort with 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Lovette was also a central figure in the first meeting with Army, contributing four points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks in the win.

The Mountain Hawks have shown a balanced attack recently, with forwards Belle Bramer and Whitney Lind combining for 29 points in the win over Lafayette.

Wednesday’s game represents a critical mid-season test for both teams. Army aims to reassert itself atop the league standings and protect its strong resume, while Lehigh looks to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify its position in the upper tier of the Patriot League.

The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tipoff at Stabler Arena.
