SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Interstat) — Cassie Gallagher scored 24 points to propel South Carolina Upstate to a 58-38 women’s basketball victory over Presbyterian on Wednesday night at G.B. Hodge Center.

The Spartans improved to 6-13 overall by pulling away after a close first quarter. Gallagher’s effort, supplemented by 14 points from Aubrie Kierscht, anchored the win. The Blue Hose, led by Ja’Cia Cunningham’s 12 points, held a 12-10 lead after one quarter but managed only three points in the fourth. Presbyterian fell to 2-15.

South Carolina Upstate took control with a 16-point second quarter and maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half. Attendance was 287.
