Montana State at Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. (Interstat) — The Montana State Bobcats look to rebound from their first loss of the season when they visit the Colorado Buffaloes in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday.

Montana State (4-1) saw its four-game winning streak snapped in a 74-60 road loss to Troy on Monday. Despite the defeat, guard Taylee Chirrick continued her strong start, pouring in 21 points in the contest. The Bobcats’ offense had previously been potent, averaging 85.8 points in their four victories.

They face a challenging test against a Colorado (5-2) team that is 4-0 at the Coors Events Center this season. The Buffaloes are coming off a 59-46 road loss to Texas A&M on Tuesday, where they were led by Zyanna Walker’s 14 points. Colorado’s home wins include decisive victories over Boise State and Portland State.

The game pits Montana State’s high-scoring attack against a Colorado defense that has held opponents to an average of 52.3 points in its four home games. The Buffaloes’ two losses have come against tough opponents in Texas A&M and Louisville.

Sunday’s matchup is the first of a two-game road trip for the Bobcats, who will play at North Dakota State on Wednesday. Colorado will host the College of Charleston on Tuesday in its next outing.
