New Hampshire at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt losing streaks will meet Sunday when the New Hampshire Wildcats visit the Holy Cross Crusaders in a non-conference women’s basketball game.

The Wildcats (2-5) travel to the Hart Recreation Center having lost four straight, including a 68-60 defeat at Brown on Tuesday. Eva DeChent led New Hampshire with 15 points in the loss. The Crusaders (2-4) are also looking to rebound from a decisive 63-40 home loss to Massachusetts on the same afternoon, a game where Meg Cahalan scored 15 points for Holy Cross.

Both teams have struggled to find consistency early in the season. New Hampshire’s two victories came against lower-division opponents Worcester State and New England College. Similarly, Holy Cross’s wins are against Boston College and Brown, with the victory over the Bears coming by a single point.

The matchup could hinge on which team can break its recent offensive struggles. The Wildcats have been held under 65 points in all five of their losses, while the Crusaders were held to a season-low 40 points in their last outing.

Sunday’s game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. tip-off. Following this contest, Holy Cross will prepare for a road game at Harvard on Wednesday, while New Hampshire’s next matchup is at home against Merrimack on Dec. 5.
