Texas-Arlington Mavericks vs. Colorado Buffaloes

LAIE, Hawaii (Interstat) — The Colorado Buffaloes look to continue their strong early-season form when they host the Texas-Arlington Mavericks in a non-conference women’s basketball game Saturday.

The game will tip off at 2 p.m. local time at Cannon Activities Center.

Colorado enters the contest with a 3-1 record, coming off a dominant 83-53 victory over Boise State on Tuesday. Anaëlle Dutat led the Buffaloes with 17 points in that win, while Kennedy Sanders added 14 points and five assists. The Buffaloes’ lone loss was a narrow 74-68 defeat at Louisville on Nov. 12.

Texas-Arlington arrives in Hawaii at 2-3, seeking to rebound from a 66-55 road loss to Lamar on Sunday. Despite the defeat, Nya Threatt scored 13 points and Kira Reynolds added 12 points and six rebounds for the Mavericks. The team has shown flashes, including a 78-58 home win over Tennessee State on Nov. 14.

This matchup is part of a multi-team event in Laie. Both teams will remain on the island for games against VCU and Texas A&M next week.

Colorado holds a distinct size and experience advantage, but the Mavericks will rely on the scoring of Threatt and the interior presence of Reynolds to challenge the Buffaloes.
