Binghamton at Akron

AKRON, Ohio (Interstat) — The Binghamton Bearcats look to get back in the win column when they visit the struggling Akron Zips in a nonconference women’s basketball game Thursday.

Binghamton (2-1) enters James A. Rhodes Arena coming off a narrow 68-65 home loss to Saint Bonaventure on Nov. 11. Bella Pucci scored 16 points in that defeat, while Kendall Bennett added 14. The Bearcats opened the season with dominant wins over SUNY Geneseo and Bloomsburg, averaging 89 points in those victories.

Akron (0-4) is still searching for its first win under first-year coach Ryan Gensler. The Zips are coming off a 76-55 road loss to Cleveland State on Sunday, where Keiryn McGuff led the team with 15 points and six rebounds. All four of Akron’s losses have come on the road by an average margin of 19.5 points.

This game begins a challenging stretch for Binghamton, which will play six of its next seven games away from home. The Zips, meanwhile, will play three of their next four at home as they seek to build momentum.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
