Louisville at Clemson

GREENVILLE, S.C. (Interstat) — The Louisville Cardinals and Clemson Lady Tigers, two teams off to solid starts, will meet in an early Atlantic Coast Conference women’s basketball test Sunday at Bi-Lo Center.

Louisville (2-1) enters the contest coming off a 74-68 home victory over Colorado on Wednesday. The Cardinals were led by a trio of high scorers: Skylar Jones (21 points), Tajianna Roberts (16 points) and Laura Ziegler (15 points, 6 rebounds). Their lone loss came against national power Connecticut, 79-66, on Nov. 4.

Clemson (3-1) is also looking to build momentum after a dominant 78-38 win over American on Thursday. In that game, Mia Moore posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Rusne Augustinaite added 16 points. The Lady Tigers’ only blemish was a 65-37 road loss to rival South Carolina on Nov. 11.

The matchup features two of the ACC’s top offenses in the young season. Louisville’s balanced scoring attack will be challenged by a Clemson defense that has held two opponents under 40 points. The game is the conference opener for both programs.

Following this contest, Louisville will host Morehead State on Nov. 19, while Clemson’s next game is at Furman on Nov. 23.
