Wright State at Tennessee State

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking their first win of the young season will meet Friday when the Wright State Raiders visit the Tennessee State Tigers in a non-conference women’s basketball game at the Howard Gentry Complex.

Both teams enter the contest with 0-1 records after suffering season-opening road losses on Monday. Wright State fell 74-53 at Butler, while Tennessee State dropped a 59-53 decision at Middle Tennessee.

The Raiders will look to guards Chloe Chard Peloquin and Claire Henson to ignite their offense. Chard Peloquin scored a team-high 15 points in the opener, with Henson adding 13 points in the loss.

The Tigers will counter with a backcourt of their own, led by Aaniya Webb, who poured in 17 points in 40 minutes of action against Middle Tennessee. Teammate XaiOnna Whitfield contributed 9 points and dished out a team-high 4 assists.

Friday’s game marks the start of a challenging road stretch for Wright State, which will play six of its next seven games away from home. For Tennessee State, it is the second of three consecutive home games to begin the season before embarking on a five-game road trip.

Tipoff is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7, 2025.
