Lehigh at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. (Interstat) — A surging Lehigh team looks to solidify its position in the Patriot League standings when it visits struggling Bucknell in a women’s basketball matchup Saturday at Sojka Pavilion.

The Mountain Hawks (15-11) enter on a strong run, having won five of their last six games, including a decisive 76-61 road victory at Boston University last Saturday. Bucknell (9-17), meanwhile, has lost two of its last three, most recently a 63-41 defeat at Holy Cross.

Lehigh’s offense is powered by guard Belle Bramer, who is coming off a 15-point, six-rebound, five-assist performance against Boston U. Over her last eight games, Bramer has averaged 14.1 points, demonstrating consistent scoring punch for a team that has averaged 72.2 points during its recent 5-1 stretch.

The Bison will counter with forward Reese Zemitis, a key two-way contributor. Zemitis is averaging 9.9 points and 4.9 rebounds over her last seven contests and provides a defensive presence, recording multiple blocks in three games during that span. Bucknell’s success often hinges on its defense, as the team is 6-3 this season when holding opponents under 60 points.

The teams met earlier this season in Bethlehem, with Lehigh securing a commanding 74-43 win on Jan. 3. The Mountain Hawks have controlled the recent series, winning the last four head-to-head meetings.

For Lehigh, a victory would bolster its case for a favorable seed in the upcoming Patriot League tournament. Bucknell seeks a signature conference win to build momentum before its regular-season finale against Army next week. The Bison will need to find an offensive rhythm after being held under 45 points in three of their last five losses.

Tip-off is set for Saturday afternoon in Lewisburg.
