Bucknell at Boston University

BOSTON (Interstat) — Two Patriot League women’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when Boston University hosts Bucknell at Agganis Arena.

The Terriers (7-13, 3-6 Patriot) and visiting Bison (5-14, 2-7) enter the 2 p.m. tipoff looking to halt recent slides. Boston University has dropped two of its last three, including a 57-47 loss at Navy on Wednesday. Bucknell has lost five of its last six, falling 65-56 at Lafayette in its most recent outing.

A key matchup will feature two of the conference’s top performers. Boston University will rely on forward Anete Adler, who is coming off a 23-point effort against Navy and has been a consistent force. She averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds in a two-game stretch against Lafayette and Colgate last week.

For Bucknell, guard Mariah Hardy is a player to watch. She posted a well-rounded line of 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes against Lafayette. Her playmaking will be critical for a Bison offense that has struggled, failing to reach 50 points in four of its last seven games.

While both teams have faced challenges this season, their Jan. 31 meeting represents a chance to gain ground in the league standings ahead of the February stretch run. The Terriers won both matchups last season.

Following this game, Boston University visits Holy Cross on Monday. Bucknell’s next contest is at home against American on Feb. 4. The teams will meet again in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, on Feb. 14.
