GEORGETOWN LOOKS TO EXTEND WINNING WAYS AGAINST STRUGGLING DEPAUL

ROSEMONT, Ill. (Interstat) — The Georgetown Hoyas visit the DePaul Blue Demons in a Big East women’s basketball matchup on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Allstate Arena, with the teams trending in opposite directions.

Georgetown (9-6) arrives with momentum after a decisive 63-46 road win at Butler on Wednesday. The Hoyas have won two of their last three conference games.

DePaul (3-14) seeks to halt a six-game losing streak, all within the Big East. The Blue Demons fell 69-59 to Providence at home last Sunday and have lost 10 of their last 11 overall.

A key matchup will feature Georgetown guard Laila Jewett against DePaul’s Gina Davorija. Jewett is coming off a strong performance, scoring 17 points in 36 minutes against Butler. Over her last five games, she has averaged 10.2 points and 2.6 assists.

Davorija has been a bright spot for DePaul during its skid, averaging 8.3 points over her last four contests. She led the Blue Demons with 13 points in the loss to Providence.

Georgetown’s recent success has been fueled by balanced contributions. Alongside Jewett, Brianna Scott added 11 points off the bench against Butler, and Cristen Carter provided 6 points, 3 assists and 2 blocks.

DePaul will rely on forwards Meg Newman, who grabbed 10 rebounds against Providence, and Kate Novik, who added 9 points and 5 boards, to counter Georgetown’s interior presence.

The Hoyas have shown resilience in close games, including a 76-74 win over Creighton on Dec. 28, but also suffered a narrow 52-51 loss to Xavier on Jan. 4. DePaul has struggled with consistency, particularly on defense, allowing 81 points or more in three of its last six losses.

Historically, this series has been competitive, adding intrigue as Georgetown aims to solidify its conference standing and DePaul desperately searches for a turnaround victory in front of its home crowd.
