Winthrop at South Carolina State

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (Interstat) — The Winthrop Eagles and South Carolina State Bulldogs, two teams looking to steady their seasons, will meet in a non-conference women’s basketball game on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at the SHM Memorial Center.

Winthrop (4-4) enters the matchup seeking to rebound from an 84-61 home loss to SMU on Wednesday. Cori Lard led the Eagles in that contest with 15 points and six assists. The Eagles have shown a pattern of alternating wins and losses over their last six games, including a 75-61 road victory over Southern Illinois on Tuesday.

South Carolina State (2-5) is also looking to end a skid after a 94-49 road loss to UCF on Monday. Lemyiah Harris scored 11 points in that defeat for the Bulldogs, who have lost five straight since opening the season with two wins over non-Division I opponents. Their last game against a Division I foe was a narrow 53-51 loss at Charleston Southern on Nov. 22.

The game presents an opportunity for both programs to build momentum before their upcoming schedules. Winthrop will host JWU Charlotte on Dec. 3, while South Carolina State travels to face UNC Asheville on the same date.
