Niagara at Radford
FAIRLAWN, Va. (Interstat) — The Radford Highlanders will look to climb back above .500 when they host the struggling Niagara Purple Eagles in a non-conference women’s basketball game on Saturday.
The game tips off at 2 p.m. EST at the D.N. Dedmon Center.
Radford (3-3) is coming off a 68-50 home victory over Furman on Wednesday. Joi Williams led the Highlanders with 14 points and three assists, while Angelina Nice added 13 points. The win snapped a two-game skid for Radford, which had previously fallen to Virginia and Georgia Tech on the road.
Niagara (0-4) is still searching for its first win of the season after a 83-46 road loss to Virginia Tech on Thursday. Tyasia Freeman scored a team-high 13 points in the defeat. The Purple Eagles have lost each of their first four games by an average of 28.5 points.
This matchup presents a contrast in momentum. The Highlanders have found success at home this season, winning two of their three games in Fairlawn. The Purple Eagles, meanwhile, continue a challenging season-opening road trip, having yet to play a game in Lewiston, New York.
Following this game, Radford will travel to Cleveland for a multi-team event, while Niagara will prepare for its home opener against Fordham next Wednesday.
