KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Interstat) — The Massachusetts women’s basketball team used a dominant second quarter to secure a 64-48 road victory over Western Michigan on Saturday at University Arena.

The Minutemen, now 21-6 overall, broke open a tight game by outscoring the Broncos 21-7 in the second period. That surge turned a 16-11 deficit after the first quarter into a 32-23 halftime lead that Massachusetts never relinquished. Allie Palmieri led a balanced attack with 14 points, while Megan Olbrys added 12 and Yahmani McKayle contributed 11.

Western Michigan, which fell to 9-18, was led by Alli Carlson’s 13 points. The Broncos struggled offensively, shooting just 33% from the field and committing 13 turnovers. Attendance was 1,781.
