Missouri at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) — The Missouri Tigers will look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify their standing when they visit the Arkansas Razorbacks in a Southeastern Conference women’s basketball matchup Thursday night at Bud Walton Arena.

Missouri (15-9) enters with momentum after an 88-80 road victory over Mississippi State on Sunday. The Tigers have won two of their last three, with their only loss in that span coming to Ole Miss. Arkansas (11-12) seeks to end a six-game losing streak, its most recent a 93-73 home defeat to Kentucky on Sunday.

The Tigers dominated the first meeting this season, routing the Razorbacks 94-69 in Columbia on Jan. 15. Missouri guard Shannon Dowell was efficient in that win, scoring 17 points in just 21 minutes. Dowell is coming off a standout performance at Mississippi State, where she posted 21 points, six rebounds and five assists. Her backcourt mate, Grace Slaughter, added 18 points in that victory.

Arkansas will rely on guard Emily Robinson to spark its offense. Robinson is coming off a 20-point, six-assist effort against Kentucky, but the Razorbacks have struggled defensively during their skid, allowing an average of 86.2 points per game in the six losses.

Missouri’s offense, which averages 75.8 points per game, will test an Arkansas defense that ranks near the bottom of the SEC. The Tigers’ ability to spread the floor with Dowell, Slaughter and Abbey Schreacke, who had 13 points against Mississippi State, presents a significant challenge.

For Arkansas, reversing January’s lopsided result will require improved shooting and ball security. The Razorbacks committed 18 turnovers leading to 29 Missouri points in the first matchup.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST. The game continues a tough stretch for Arkansas, which plays five of its next seven on the road. Missouri returns home Sunday to host Georgia.
