Lipscomb at Stetson
Preview: Lipscomb Bisons at Stetson Hatters - Women’s Basketball
DELAND, Fla. (Interstat) — The Stetson Hatters will seek to avenge a recent road loss and protect their home court when they host the Lipscomb Bisons in an ASUN Conference women’s basketball matchup on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at Edmunds Center.
The Hatters (10-7 overall) enter with a winning record but are looking to rebound from an 88-76 non-conference loss at West Georgia last Saturday. Stetson’s offense will run through guard Cameron Thomas, who scored 26 points in that defeat and is averaging 17.1 points over her last seven games. However, Thomas was held to just seven points in the teams’ first meeting this season.
Lipscomb (6-11) arrives with momentum from a 51-45 road victory at Austin Peay, a win anchored by a strong defensive effort. The Bisons are led by guard Molly Heard, who poured in 18 points in that win and averages 15.1 points per game in conference play. Heard was instrumental in Lipscomb’s 67-53 home win over Stetson on Jan. 8, finishing with 13 points and three assists.
That prior result adds a layer of urgency for the Hatters, who have been stronger at home this season. Stetson will aim to leverage its interior presence, where forward Aleah Sorrentino is coming off a 16-point, 9-rebound performance against West Georgia.
For Lipscomb, consistency remains the challenge. The Bisons have alternated wins and losses over their past six games. Replicating their defensive intensity from the Austin Peay win, where they held their opponent to 29% shooting, will be critical against a Stetson team averaging 68.2 points per game at home.
The contest is the first of a key two-game Florida swing for Lipscomb, which visits first-place Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday. Stetson remains at home to face Austin Peay that same day.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
