GREEN BAY, Wis. (Interstat) — Green Bay held off a late challenge to defeat Cleveland State 58-55 in a Horizon League women’s basketball game Friday night at Resch Center.

The Phoenix led 26-22 at halftime and extended their advantage after the third quarter. The Vikings narrowed the gap in the final period but fell short. The attendance was 2,300.

With the win, Green Bay improved to 10-5 overall. Cleveland State, which had a two-game win streak snapped, dropped to 12-4. Both teams continue league play Sunday.
