Fort Wayne at Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Interstat) — The Fort Wayne Mastodons look to continue their strong start when they visit the Bowling Green Falcons in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday.
Fort Wayne (4-3) enters the contest at the Stroh Center riding momentum from a 77-68 road victory over Northwestern State on Tuesday. Alana Nelson led the way with 28 points in that win, while Ella Riggs added 12 and Jordan Reid scored 11. The Mastodons have shown resilience this season, including a notable 68-67 home upset over Purdue on Nov. 12.
Bowling Green (2-4) snapped a three-game skid with a 67-63 win at Alaska Anchorage on Nov. 22. Paige Kohler scored 19 points and Johnea Donahue added 14 for the Falcons in that victory. The team’s season has been challenging, featuring a 114-47 loss at then-South Carolina.
The matchup pits Fort Wayne’s productive offense against a Bowling Green squad seeking consistency. The Mastodons have scored 77 or more points in three of their four wins this season.
