North Texas at SMU

DALLAS (Interstat) — The SMU Mustangs look to halt a three-game skid when they host the North Texas Mean Green in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at Moody Coliseum in Abilene.

North Texas (3-1) enters the contest seeking to rebound from its first loss of the season, a 60-51 home defeat to Abilene Christian on Wednesday. Despite the loss, forward Mekhia Chase posted a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Prior to the setback, the Mean Green’s offense was dominant, scoring over 100 points in two of their first three games, including a 102-50 rout of Nelson.

The Mustangs (1-3) are coming off a 76-60 road loss to Grand Canyon on Tuesday. Guard Zahra King led SMU with 19 points in that contest. Their lone win this season was a 96-70 victory over Grambling on Nov. 4, but they have since fallen to Kansas State, Texas Tech and Grand Canyon.

The game pits North Texas’s early-season momentum against an SMU squad hungry to right the ship on its home floor. Tipoff is set for Saturday in Abilene.
