SAINT PAUL, Minn. (Interstat) — Marissa Gingrich scored 22 points to lead NJIT to a 68-63 win over Saint Thomas (Minn.) in a non-conference women’s basketball game Sunday at Schoenecker Arena. The Highlanders improved to 4-1 while the Tommies fell to 0-4.

NJIT built a 35-30 halftime lead and maintained its advantage despite a strong effort from Saint Thomas’s Savannah McGowan, who finished with 14 points. The Tommies were held to just seven points in the fourth quarter, stifling their comeback attempt. Allison Cannon added 10 points for the Highlanders.
