Central Arkansas at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) — The undefeated Arkansas women’s basketball team looks to continue its strong start to the season when it hosts in-state foe Central Arkansas on Monday at Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks (2-0) are averaging 97 points per game after decisive wins over Louisiana Tech and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. In the 101-49 victory over UAPB on Friday, Jenna Lawrence scored 26 points in just 18 minutes, while Bonnie Deas recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Central Arkansas (1-1) is coming off a dominant 115-43 win over Lyon College, where Cheyanne Kemp led the way with 22 points and six rebounds. The Bears opened their season with a 71-78 road loss to Missouri.

This non-conference matchup pits the Razorbacks’ high-powered offense against a Bears squad seeking a statement win against a Southeastern Conference opponent. Arkansas has won its first two games by an average margin of 44 points.

Following this game, Arkansas will host Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday, while Central Arkansas’ next contest is against Arkansas State on Nov. 19.
