BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — Shariah Gailes scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lift Canisius to a 68-63 overtime victory over Mount Saint Mary’s in a women’s Division I basketball game Saturday at Koessler Athletic Center.

The Golden Griffins, who improved to 5-22, overcame a six-point halftime deficit. The Mountaineers, now 13-14, forced overtime by outscoring Canisius 19-12 in the third quarter and battling through a tight fourth.

Canisius dominated the extra period, scoring 11 points to Mount Saint Mary’s six. Franka Wittenberg added 12 points and eight assists for the Golden Griffins. Alana Powell led the Mountaineers with 13 points. Attendance was 453.
