ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Interstat) — The High Point Panthers overcame a slow start to defeat the UNC Asheville Bulldogs 60-55 in a Big South Conference women’s basketball game Wednesday night at Kimmel Arena.

UNC Asheville led 19-10 after the first quarter, but High Point held the Bulldogs to just five points in the second to seize a 25-24 halftime lead. The Panthers then secured the road victory with a 24-point fourth quarter. Attendance was 486.

With the win, High Point improved to 23-4 overall. UNC Asheville fell to 10-17. The Panthers swept the regular-season series, having also won 78-51 on Dec. 31.
