Preview: Arkansas-Little Rock at Southeast Missouri State Women’s Basketball

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Interstat) — Two Ohio Valley Conference teams seeking consistency will meet Thursday when the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans visit the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks at the Show Me Center.

The Trojans (9-9) enter at .500 overall after a 75-59 home loss to Western Illinois on Saturday. They had previously won four of their last five conference games. The Redhawks (6-12) look to rebound from a 67-56 home defeat to Tennessee-Martin on Tuesday, which snapped a brief two-game winning streak.

A key matchup will feature Arkansas-Little Rock’s leading scorer, Jordan Holman, against Southeast Missouri State’s primary playmaker, Raissa Nsabua. Holman has been a consistent offensive force, scoring in double figures in six straight games. She is coming off a 17-point, 4-assist performance against Western Illinois and averaged 16.3 points per game during that stretch, including a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double against Tennessee Tech on Jan. 1.

Nsabua, a guard for the Redhawks, facilitates the offense. She dished out seven assists in a win over SIU Edwardsville last Saturday and has averaged 5.6 assists over her last seven contests. Her ability to create for others will be critical for a Southeast Missouri State team that has struggled to score at times, including a 46-point outing in a loss at Southern Indiana on Jan. 8.

Arkansas-Little Rock has found success with defense recently, holding opponents under 50 points in three of its last six wins. Southeast Missouri State’s defense allowed an average of 70.3 points in its three games prior to the Tennessee-Martin loss.

The Trojans won both meetings last season. This begins a key two-game road swing for Arkansas-Little Rock, which visits Tennessee-Martin on Saturday. Southeast Missouri State hits the road for its next two, traveling to Western Illinois and Eastern Illinois.

Tip-off is set for Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, in Cape Girardeau.
