ERIE, Pa. (Interstat) — Jenna Van Schaik scored 25 points to lead Mercyhurst to a 66-63 win over New Haven in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game Thursday night at Mercyhurst Athletic Center.

The Lakers built a 42-22 halftime lead before the Chargers mounted a fierce comeback, outscoring Mercyhurst 26-14 in the fourth quarter. New Haven’s Addisen Sulikowski hit a trio of 3-pointers in the final period and finished with 17 points. Aniya McDonald-Perry led the Chargers with 16 points.

Mercyhurst held on despite scoring only 10 points in the third quarter. Sofia Wilson added 12 points for the Lakers, and Cici Hernandez scored 18. Both teams are now 5-13 this season. Attendance was 263.
