UC Riverside at Cal State Fullerton
FULLERTON, Calif. (Interstat) — A pair of Big West women’s basketball teams looking to establish consistency will meet Saturday when the Cal State Fullerton Titans host the UC Riverside Highlanders.
The game tips off at 4 p.m. PST on Jan. 17, 2026, at Titan Gymnasium.
Cal State Fullerton (8-8) enters at .500 overall after a 73-58 road win at Cal State Northridge last Saturday. The Titans have alternated wins and losses over their last five games. They are led by guard Cristina Jones, who has been on a scoring tear. Jones has averaged 20.8 points over her last five contests, including a 20-point performance in the win over CSUN and a 21-point effort in an overtime loss to UC San Diego on Jan. 8.
UC Riverside (5-10) seeks to rebound from a 54-70 loss at UC San Diego that same day. The Highlanders’ season has been marked by streaks, with their current 1-3 skid following a three-game winning streak in late December. Guard Kaylani Polk provides steady playmaking for Riverside, averaging 9.2 points and 4.0 assists over the last five games. Hannah Wickstrom, who scored a team-high 19 points against UCSD, offers a secondary scoring threat.
The Titans won the first meeting last season, 72-63, in Riverside. These teams will meet again in a rematch on Feb. 5 at UC Riverside.
For Fullerton, maintaining momentum at home will be key as they aim to stay above .500. The Titans are 5-2 at Titan Gymnasium this season. Riverside, meanwhile, looks to improve a 2-6 road record and find an answer for Jones’s offensive output. The matchup hinges on whether the Highlanders’ defense can disrupt the Titans’ primary scorer and if Riverside’s offense can generate enough production to keep pace.
The game is part of the early conference schedule for both teams as they jockey for position in the Big West standings.
