ALBANY, N.Y. (Interstat) — Siena defeated Mount Saint Mary’s 69-59 in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game Thursday at Times Union Center.

The Saints built a 40-30 halftime lead behind strong first-half scoring. The Mountaineers rallied with a 22-point third quarter to close the gap, but Siena controlled the fourth quarter, outscoring Mount Saint Mary’s 15-7 to secure the win. The Mountaineers held advantages in points in the paint and points off turnovers, but it was not enough to overcome Siena’s consistent scoring.

Siena improved to 5-7 overall. Mount Saint Mary’s fell to 6-7.
