Old Dominion at Louisiana-Lafayette
LAFAYETTE, La. (Interstat) — The Old Dominion Lady Monarchs will look to rebound from a tough overtime loss when they visit the struggling Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game Wednesday night at the Cajundome.
Old Dominion (13-10) is coming off an 86-83 overtime defeat to Southern Mississippi on Jan. 30, a game in which standout guard Simaru Fields scored 26 points in 41 minutes. Fields has been a consistent offensive force, averaging 16.1 points over her last eight contests. The Lady Monarchs have shown resilience, with three of their last five wins coming in overtime or double-overtime, but have lost three of their last five overall.
Louisiana-Lafayette (2-20) seeks to end a two-game skid after a 95-54 loss at Marshall on Saturday. The Ragin’ Cajuns’ lone win in their last 11 games was a 69-66 victory over Coastal Carolina on Jan. 21. They will rely on forward Mikaylah Manley, who is coming off a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds against Marshall and scored a season-high 25 points in the win over Coastal Carolina.
The matchup presents a stark contrast in season trajectories. Old Dominion aims to stay above .500 and build momentum for the conference schedule ahead. Louisiana-Lafayette, mired in a difficult season, looks to find a rare bright spot at home. The Lady Monarchs won both meetings last season by an average of 32 points.
Tip-off is set for Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026. Old Dominion travels to Ohio next on Feb. 7, while Louisiana-Lafayette visits Akron the same day.
