Kennesaw State at Louisiana Tech
RUSTON, La. (Interstat) — A surging Louisiana Tech women’s basketball team looks to continue its strong conference play when it hosts a Kennesaw State squad coming off its best offensive performance of the season on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026.
The Lady Techsters (13-5) have won six of their last seven games, most recently a 74-59 road victory at Florida International on Saturday. Forward Kaleigh Thompson led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds, continuing her consistent play. Over her last four games, Thompson is averaging 12.5 points and 4.3 rebounds.
They will face a Kennesaw State Owls team (9-8) that is riding a two-game winning streak, including a dominant 70-55 win over New Mexico State last Saturday. In that game, guard Keyarah Berry erupted for a career-high 31 points, showcasing the explosive scoring ability she has displayed throughout January. Berry is averaging 18.1 points over her last seven contests.
The matchup at the Thomas Assembly Center pits Louisiana Tech’s stout defense, which has held opponents to an average of 56.2 points during its recent 6-1 stretch, against a Kennesaw State offense that just put up 83 points against UTEP last week. The Owls’ success has been inconsistent, however, as evidenced by a 47-point outing in a loss to Jacksonville State on Jan. 17.
For Louisiana Tech, balance has been key. Alongside Thompson, guard Paris Bradley is coming off an 11-point, eight-assist performance against FIU. The Lady Techsters’ lone loss since early January was a narrow three-point defeat to Sam Houston.
Kennesaw State will need another major contribution from Berry and center Trynce Taylor, who recorded a 12-point, 15-rebound double-double against New Mexico State, to challenge the Lady Techsters on their home floor.
This is the first of two scheduled meetings between the teams this season. They are set to meet again in Kennesaw, Georgia, on Saturday, Feb. 21.
