FULLERTON, Calif. (Interstat) — The UC Davis women’s basketball team secured a 73-67 victory over Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference game Thursday night at Titan Gymnasium.

The Aggies (12-5) used a balanced scoring attack and clutch free-throw shooting to hold off the Titans (8-9). UC Davis shot 14 of 17 from the line, including key makes in the final minute, while Cal State Fullerton made just 9 of 16.

Avery Sussex led UC Davis with 20 points. Ryann Bennett added 14 points and 10 assists. For Cal State Fullerton, Talia Maxwell scored 17 points and Cristina Jones added 15.

The game was close throughout, with UC Davis building a slim lead in the fourth quarter. The Aggies’ defense forced 18 turnovers to help secure the road win before an announced crowd of 154.
