Duke at South Florida
TAMPA, Fla. (Interstat) — The Duke Blue Devils and South Florida Bulls look to build momentum before entering challenging stretches of their schedules when they meet in a nonconference women’s basketball game Thursday.
Duke (3-2) arrives at the Sun Dome after a 71-57 road victory over Liberty on Sunday. Toby Fournier led the Blue Devils with 18 points and four blocks, while Ashlon Jackson added 16 points and five assists. Arianna Roberson controlled the paint with 11 rebounds.
South Florida (2-2) is looking to rebound from a 94-61 loss at UCLA last Saturday. Katie Davidson scored 16 points and Stefanie Ingram added 13 points and five assists in the defeat.
The Blue Devils have shown a pattern of strong performances at home, including a 91-48 win over Holy Cross, but have struggled in true road games, with losses at Baylor and West Virginia.
The Bulls have split their home contests, defeating Long Island and Florida International but falling to Fairfield.
This game serves as a final tune-up for both teams before high-profile matchups. Duke will face South Carolina in Las Vegas on Nov. 26, while South Florida hosts powerhouse Connecticut on Dec. 2.
Tipoff is set for Thursday night.
