Fordham at Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Fordham Rams, riding a three-game winning streak, will visit the struggling Buffalo Bulls in a non-conference women’s basketball game Sunday at Alumni Arena.

Fordham (3-1) enters the contest with momentum after a 58-52 victory over Stony Brook on Wednesday. Alexis Black led the Rams with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Ornella Niankan added 16 points and eight rebounds. The Rams’ defense has been a key factor, holding opponents to an average of 57.5 points during their current streak.

Conversely, Buffalo (0-3) is still searching for its first win. The Bulls are coming off a 73-55 road loss to Vermont on Wednesday. Paula Lopez scored 24 points in the defeat, and Meg Lucas nearly recorded a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. Buffalo has struggled offensively, averaging just 49.7 points per game through its first three contests.

The matchup pits Fordham’s balanced attack and stout defense against a Buffalo team in need of a breakout performance to turn its season around. After this game, Fordham travels to face Seton Hall on Thursday, while Buffalo heads to Saint Bonaventure on Wednesday.
