Lamar at Kansas State
MANHATTAN, Kan. (Interstat) — The Kansas State Wildcats look to continue their strong start to the season when they host the Lamar Lady Cardinals in a nonconference women’s basketball game Monday at Bramlage Coliseum.
Kansas State (2-0) is coming off a low-scoring 46-44 road win over SMU on Saturday. The Wildcats opened their season with a dominant 100-35 victory over Omaha.
Lamar (0-1) seeks its first win after a narrow 72-68 overtime loss at Northern Colorado, also on Saturday. Shaila Forman led the Lady Cardinals with 18 points in the opener, while Jacei Denley added 13 points and Solenne Olenga pulled down six rebounds.
The game is the first of a challenging two-game road swing through the state of Kansas for Lamar, which travels to face the Kansas Jayhawks on Wednesday. Kansas State will host South Dakota on Thursday as part of a busy nonconference slate.
