East Carolina at Liberty
LYNCHBURG, Va. (Interstat) — Two teams coming off dominant season-opening victories will meet Friday when the Liberty Lady Flames host the East Carolina Pirates in a non-conference women’s basketball game at the Vines Center.
Both teams enter the Nov. 7, 2025, contest with 1-0 records. East Carolina cruised to an 82-63 win over UNC Wilmington on Monday, led by Kennedy Fauntleroy’s 16 points and a 15-point, 7-rebound performance from Anzhane’ Hutton.
Liberty opened its season Tuesday with a 78-49 rout of Division II Frostburg State. Emmy Stout posted a double-double for the Lady Flames with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Ify Nwaobi grabbed nine rebounds.
The matchup will be the first of a challenging stretch for both squads. Following this game, East Carolina will host Charleston Southern on Nov. 11 before a road game at High Point. Liberty’s upcoming schedule includes a road test at James Madison on Nov. 12 and a home game against Duke on Nov. 16.
Friday’s game will be the first of a four-game homestand for the Lady Flames, while the Pirates look to secure a second straight road victory to start the season.
