Keuka Wolves at Lycoming Warriors
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Interstat) — The Keuka Wolves will visit the Lycoming Warriors in a women’s NCAA Division III basketball game Friday at Keiper Recreation Center in Williamsport, Pa.
Both teams enter the matchup with 0-0 records. Keuka will look to start its season on a positive note after closing its most recent campaign with a 68-58 loss at Elmira. Lycoming also will seek a stronger start after a 67-52 home loss to Elizabethtown in its most recent result. The Warriors will have the home-court setting at Keiper Recreation Center, while the Wolves will open their schedule on the road in a game that gives both programs an early test.
Keuka’s early slate includes a home game against Buffalo State, a road contest at Morrisville State and home matchups with SUNY Delhi and Pennsylvania College. The Wolves also are scheduled to visit Pittsburgh-Bradford before returning home against Hilbert and Alfred State. Keuka’s later schedule includes road games at SUNY Fredonia, Russell Sage and SUNY Polytechnic.
Lycoming’s upcoming schedule begins with a home game against Franklin & Marshall. The Warriors then are set for road games at Penn State-Berks, Wilkes and Catholic before returning home for matchups with Goucher, Drew and Elmira. Lycoming also has a neutral-site meeting with North Central (Ill.) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a game against Salve Regina in Caguas, PR, before hosting Hilbert.
The matchup offers both programs an early opportunity to establish rotations and set a tone for the season. Keuka and Lycoming will each be seeking their first win of the young campaign in a game that could hinge on execution in the closing minutes. The Wolves and Warriors will meet under the lights with both teams looking to build from their most recent performances.
Keuka will aim to use its road game as a measuring point before returning for a stretch of home contests. Lycoming will try to use its home floor to begin the schedule with a steady performance. Both teams will be working through early-season adjustments, and the game gives each side a chance to build rhythm before the schedule moves deeper into the month.
The early-season meeting will give both teams a chance to evaluate lineups and build chemistry. Keuka and Lycoming will each look to set a defensive tone and limit turnovers while adjusting to game speed. The result will count as the first decision of the season for whichever team can settle into the matchup.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a final score of Keuka 53, Lycoming 50.
