SHREVEPORT, La. (Interstat) — The East Texas Baptist Tigers opened their season with a commanding 76-50 victory over the Centenary Gents in a non-conference women’s basketball game Friday night at the Gold Dome. East Texas Baptist established control early, outscoring Centenary 19-10 in the first quarter and never relinquishing the lead. The Tigers extended their advantage by halftime, leading 36-24, and continued to pull away after the break, outscoring the Gents 20-9 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
