Scranton 60, at SUNY Geneseo 35

GENESEO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The University of Scranton Royals opened their season with a commanding 60-35 victory over the SUNY Geneseo Knights in non-conference women’s basketball action Friday night at Merritt Athletic Center. In a game defined by defensive pressure and interior dominance, the Royals held the Knights to single-digit scoring in three of the four quarters before an announced crowd of 568. Scranton seized control with a 22-point second quarter, turning a narrow 8-12 deficit after the first period into a 30-19 halftime lead.
