UTICA, N.Y. (Interstat) — In a season-opening women’s college basketball contest Friday night, the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons used a dominant first quarter to set the tone, cruising to a 66-50 victory over the SUNY Polytechnic Wildcats at the Wildcat Field House. The Red Dragons exploded for 24 points in the opening period, capitalizing on a series of early Wildcats turnovers and missed shots.
