(Interstat) — The Chowan Hawks used a dominant defensive performance and a standout all-around effort from Nyeshia Savage to cruise past the North Carolina-Pembroke Braves 78-56 in a Conference Carolinas women’s basketball game Wednesday night at the English E. Jones Center. The Hawks never trailed, opening the game on a 10-0 run and steadily pulling away to improve to 16-8 overall. The Braves fell to 11-16.
