Houston at Tennessee

NASHVILLE (Interstat) — The Houston Texans will visit the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in a National Football League game at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. Both teams are 0-4 and looking for their first win of the season. The forecast for game time is 62 degrees Fahrenheit.

Houston comes in after a 34-30 home loss to Dallas in its most recent game. C.J. Stroud completed 21 of 31 passes for 347 yards and accounted for two touchdowns. He also rushed for 12 yards on two carries. David Montgomery added 10 carries for 24 yards, and Woody Marks had six carries for 22 yards and one touchdown. The Texans’ other recent results include a 19-17 loss at Indianapolis, a 20-6 home loss to Cincinnati and a 36-31 home loss to Buffalo. Houston will need Stroud to build on his recent production and help an offense that has yet to secure a victory.

Tennessee returns home after a 24-18 loss at Baltimore in its most recent game. Cam Ward completed 20 of 31 passes for 222 yards and accounted for one touchdown. He rushed four times for 27 yards. Tony Pollard ran 16 times for 48 yards and one touchdown and added two receptions for 2 yards. Tyjae Spears had two carries for 7 yards and one reception for minus-1 yard. The Titans have also lost to the N.Y. Giants, Philadelphia and the N.Y. Jets this season. Tennessee will look to Ward, Pollard and Spears to provide balance against Houston.

Stroud remains the central figure for Houston, while Ward guides Tennessee. Both teams have struggled through the first four weeks, making Sunday’s game an opportunity to change momentum. Houston’s defense will try to contain Ward and the Titans’ running game, while Tennessee’s defense will focus on Stroud and the Texans’ passing attack.

Nissan Stadium is expected to host a Titans team eager to reward its home crowd. Houston, meanwhile, will aim to carry its recent offensive output into a road environment. The Texans have shown the ability to move the ball through the air, but they have not turned those yards into enough points to win. Tennessee has had similar issues, with close losses and limited scoring output. The Titans will need to protect Ward and establish Pollard on the ground to keep the offense on schedule.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a final score of Houston 31, Tennessee 27. Interstat’s ELO system gives Houston an 86.5 percent probability to win. Tennessee has been installed as a pregame favorite with a spread of -7, and the over/under is 38.5.
