Tennessee at Baltimore
BALTIMORE (Interstat) — The Tennessee Titans will visit the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in a National Football League game at M&T Bank Stadium. Tennessee enters at 0-3, while Baltimore is 2-1. The Ravens will look to build on a narrow road win, and the Titans will seek their first victory. The game-time weather forecast calls for 64 degrees Fahrenheit.
Tennessee has opened the season with losses to the N.Y. Jets, Philadelphia and the N.Y. Giants. In the Titans’ most recent game, they fell 12-7 to the Giants. Cam Ward, Tennessee’s quarterback and a player to watch, passed for 181 yards and ran for a 2-yard touchdown. Tony Pollard added 74 rushing yards and 22 receiving yards, while Tyjae Spears had five rushing yards. Ward has shown dual-threat ability throughout the early season. He passed for 183 yards and ran for 7 yards with two touchdowns against Philadelphia. Against the Jets, he threw for 140 yards and ran for 21 yards and a touchdown. The Titans will need Ward to protect the ball and create plays against Baltimore.
Baltimore’s player to watch is Lamar Jackson, who remains one of the NFL’s most dynamic quarterbacks. The Ravens beat Dallas 34-31 in their most recent game. Jackson passed for 186 yards, ran for 50 yards and accounted for two touchdowns. Derrick Henry added 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Justice Hill ran for 33 yards. In a loss to New Orleans, Jackson passed for 235 yards and ran for 34 yards with a touchdown. In a win at Indianapolis, he passed for 324 yards and ran for 40 yards with a touchdown and another score. Jackson’s ability to extend plays will test Tennessee’s discipline and tackling.
Tennessee’s next game is set for Houston at home. Baltimore’s next game is set to be at Atlanta. The Ravens have shown offensive balance with Jackson and Henry, and they enter as the stronger team on paper. M&T Bank Stadium has traditionally provided a difficult environment for visiting teams, and Tennessee will need to start quickly to quiet the home crowd. The Titans also must avoid falling behind early, because Baltimore’s running game can control the clock when playing with a lead. Tennessee’s defense will need to limit explosive plays and force Jackson into long third downs. On offense, Ward must connect with Pollard and other playmakers to sustain drives.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a final score of Baltimore 40, Tennessee 17. Tennessee has been installed as a pregame favorite with a spread of +11.5. The over/under for the game is 42.5.
