Broncos Defense Dominates, Grounds Chargers to Secure Victory
DENVER (Interstat) — The Denver Broncos used a stifling defensive performance to defeat the Los Angeles Chargers 19 to 3 in an NFL game Sunday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. A crowd of 74,801 watched the Broncos improve to 14-3 while the Chargers fell to 11-6.
Denver set the tone early. Kicker Wil Lutz made a 24-yard field goal, and on the ensuing Chargers drive, cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian intercepted a Trey Lance pass and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown. Lutz added three more field goals to account for all of Denver’s scoring.
The Broncos’ defense relentlessly pressured Lance, sacking him three times and limiting Los Angeles to a single second-quarter field goal. A potential late Chargers touchdown was nullified by penalty, and a subsequent score was overturned by replay review. Broncos quarterback Bo Nix managed the game effectively, adding 49 rushing yards.
